MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Monday that they will wear retro 1967-68 Minnesota Muskies uniforms for six home games in 2012.

These "Hardwood Classic" games will begin on Feb. 1, when the Indiana Pacers visit the Target Center, and continue through March 30. Players will wear the uniforms Feb. 10 against Dallas, Feb. 11 against New York, March 5 against the Los Angeles Clippers, March 9 against the Los Angeles Lakers and March 30 against the Boston Celtics.

"We're extremely excited to pay tribute to the great history of Minnesota basketball through the Hardwood Classic games," Timberwolves president Chris Wright said in a release. "It will be fun to see Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio and all of our current players wearing the Muskies uniform."

The Minnesota Muskies were an ABA team that played one season, 1967-68, in Minneapolis. Their roster included two-time ABA MVP Mel Daniels and four-time ABA All-Star Donnie Freeman. After the Muskies moved to Miami, the team was replaced by another ABA franchise in Minneapolis, the Minnesota Pipers, in 1968.
