Timberwolves' Love chills out for charity

A broken hand has kept Kevin Love from setting foot on the court for the Minnesota Timberwolves since Jan. 3, but it didn't keep him from dipping his toes -- and a whole lot more -- into frigid Riley Lake in Eden Prairie on Saturday morning.
Love braved temperatures in the low 30s to take the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics and challenged Timberwolves fans to join him by donating $5 per frozen fan, up to $5,000, to Special Olympics Minnesota. The Plunge was organized by Minnesota law enforcement and had raised more than $300,000 in the past five years.
Love, a 2012 Olympic gold medal winner who is expected to return to the Timberwolves sometime this month, went all in with the plunge, doing a backward dive into the water that immediately got him wet up to his neck.
Given all the ice he's probably had on his hand the past two months, Riley Lake might have even felt warm.
