Tiger Woods records his worst 36-hole score at a major
After the painful outing Tiger Woods had at Chambers Bay on Thursday, it would have been difficult for things to get much worse for the world's former No. 1 golfer.
He committed eight bogeys and one triple during his first round and even had the club fly out of his hands when attempting to get his ball out of the deep fescue on the 8th hole.
Luckily for Woods, he was able to limit the damage on Friday, shooting a 6-over 76 -- yes, a 76 for Tiger is considered progress at this point . . . wow. Yet the slight improvement wasn't enough for him to avoid this unfortunate stat: Over 36 holes at Chambers Bay, Woods recorded his worst score to par at a major in his career, shooting a 16-over 156.
We all wondered whether Woods would make the cut at Chambers Bay. Would this be the tournament he finally turned things around? Now we know the answer: No.
