Struggling Woods loses club on swing out of fescue on 8th hole
The start of the U.S. Open has not gone well for Tiger Woods.
He opened with a bogey at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash., on Thursday.
He bogeyed the next hole.
He bogeyed the fourth hole.
He bogeyed the sixth hole.
All were par-4’s.
On the eighth hole, Woods found himself in the deep fescue to the right of the fairway.
Then he lost his club on the shot in the above video.
Tiger 2nd to the 8th, he hacks out and loses the club. It goes flying a mile. Don't see that everyday.

However, he managed to save par after pitching to the green and two-putting to avoid another bogey.
Tiger finished the front-nine 4 over.
He saved par on 10 with this bunker shot.
But then he bogeyed 11, 12 and 13, and tripled-bogeyed the par-4 14th.
I remember idolizing Woods growing up. His poster was on my door. I'd watch anything that had him in it…This Tiger is just sad. Really sad

Will Tiger Woods ever win another major? Will he ever win another event? Should he retire?

After a birdie on 16, Tiger parred the 17th hole before closing out the day with another bogey on 18.
All in all, there were enough lowlights to make a two-and-a-half-minute video:
