Three takeaways from the Blue Jackets 4-2 loss to Carolina

One: They came out fast, dictated the pace for almost half of the first period and then faded. Carolina jumped on them for a two-goal lead before the end of 20 minutes. It was a Jekyll and Hyde performance by Columbus.

Two: Goalie Curtis McElhinney was fighting the puck for most of the game and it made the guys in front of him a bit edgy. They weren't as confident with their passing and decision making as they were on Saturday with Forsberg in net.

Three: Unmotivated and uncommitted hockey will not lead to any success, now or in the future. Have they hit rock bottom with their sixth loss in a row? As much as this pains me to say, I don't think so.
