BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- The Buffalo Sabres have traded left wing Clarke MacArthur to the Atlanta Thrashers for a third- and fourth-round draft pick.
The move was announced by the Sabres on Wednesday before the NHL trade deadline. MacArthur, Buffalo's 2003 third-round draft pick, was is in his fourth season with the Sabres. He is eligible to become a restricted free agent this summer.
Used mostly on the third line, MacArthur has 13 goals and 13 assists in 60 games this season. He is coming off a career-best season, when he had 17 goals and 14 assists in 71 games.
MacArthur became expendable when the Sabres acquired forward Raffi Torres earlier Wednesday in a deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
