Mario has starred in a number of sports spinoffs over the years, from golf to tennis to baseball to soccer to the Olympics - there was 3-on-3 basketball game was released on the DS - but the Nintendo mascot has never put on shoulder pads and danced in the endzone to celebrate a touchdown. Reddit user -SyBro imagined what a Mario football game would look like, and the detailed renders created to vizualize the concept are jaw-dropping.
-SyBro also suggested how the gameplay could work, and a few different game types. American football might not have enough worldwide appeal for Nintendo to ever consider actually making this happen, but a Mario football game would be the perfect break from the to the annual sim-focused Madden games.
