During Thursday night’s MLB postseason pregame show on FOX Sports, things got super awkward when Pete Rose brought up the wrong Yankee when speaking to fellow panelist Alex Rodriguez.
Rose, who does nothing but bust chops the entire time he’s on air, thought he’d continue to pick on A-Rod for constantly referencing the Yankees. He said that Derek Jeter inspired A-Rod like Anthony Rizzo has inspired Kris Bryant this postseason.
That’s a sore subject with Rod, who has worked his entire career to be better than Jeter (and, was better than Jeter).
Rodriguez, to his credit, absolutely froze, and was able to come up with a transition out of the subject within five seconds. Impressive television skills.
