The Fighter & The Kid's UFC Fairfax predictions: 'Clay Guida by awesomeness'
After about 45 minutes of lurid, hilarious and all-around nutzo stories from Brendan, Bryan, and Evan The Beard, the Fighter & The Kid podcast crew finally got around to discussing this week's big UFC event. Don't get us wrong, the first half of the episode is about as crazy and fun as it gets, so don't miss it (though, if you're listening at work, maybe turn that down real low or ear-muff it. Partial spoiler alert - there's tales of murderous clowns, a confusing but thrilling sexual experience from Bryan, and an almost-threesome tale from The Beard, and, unbelievably, more).
The big man had plenty to say about this weekend's Fight Night card as well, though. Brendan gives his pick for best fight of the card - Al Iaquinta vs. Jorge Masvidal - saying, "That's your best fight of the card...stylistically, just such a good fight. It's going to be a stand-up war."
He also explains why Clay Guida is his all-time bro pick. "I'm cheering for Clay Guida," he reveals.
"He's one of the good guys of the sport. There's no one I'll be cheering for more than Clay, just because I can relate to him...I've been there, man. You've got to re-invent yourself. I'm there now. Clay Guida by awesomeness."
Brendan also discusses why Julianna Pena is an inspiration and how the bantamweight division needs her, as well as how he plans to get himself down to light heavyweight. Nutrition coaches looking for a new client may want to special attention to this section.
