David Sokolow is a "distinguished senior lecturer" and the director of student life at the University of Texas. He specializes in contracts, corporations and entertainment law and is a two-time winner of the Texas Exes Teaching Excellence Award, according to his Texas faculty bio.
He graduated from Columbia Law School, holds grad degrees in art history and business administration and has served on Texas' faculty since 1981. By all accounts, he has an impressive academic pedigree.
He also appears to be a professor of spitting straight fire at UT rivals.
Sokolow was giving a Florida bar lecture when he dropped a haymaker on Texas A&M fans. He was comparing general partnerships with limited liability partnerships and said there are two instances when you'd encounter the former, with only one relating to the Florida state bar.
"What's the other instance where you might might encouter a general partnership?" Sokolow says. "It's really only relevant in Texas. It's where you're dealing with an Aggie -- someone from Texas A&M. Because Aggies are so dumb they don't even know that the limited liability partnership form exists, and therefore they never use it. They go for the general partnership."
