Charlie Strong will have at least two new coaches on his staff for his second season at the University of Texas.

Strong relieved tight ends coach Bruce Chambers and wide receivers coach Les Koenning of their duties Thursday, two days after the Longhorns wrapped up a 6-7 season with a loss to Arkansas in the Texas Bowl.

Chambers was the lone coaching holdover from Mack Brown's staff and had been with the Longhorns for 17 seasons. Koenning, who graduated from Texas, was in his first year with the Longhorns after spending five seasons at Mississippi State.

"Les and Bruce are both good men and good football coaches," Strong said in a statement. "It's unfortunate that it didn't work out, but I just feel like we need to make a change and head in a different direction in their positions. We wish them the best."
