Texas CB Diggs: Lack of student attendance is 'pathetic'

BY foxsports • February 20, 2014

Texas is football country, and the Longhorns have one of the largest student bodies in the nation with more than 50,000 enrolled.

But that doesn't mean they make Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium a tough place to play.

The home of the 'Horns is the largest stadium in the Big 12 with a seating capacity of 100,119. However, schools like Texas Tech, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State have a reputation of being much more rowdy with crowds of at least 40,000 less.

Texas senior cornerback Quandre Diggs thinks that's ridiculous and wants to see some changes in the burnt orange faithful.

Longhorns senior defensive end Cedric Reed also agrees with Diggs that there needs to be a change in culture in Austin.

Since playing in the 2010 BCS Championship Game, Texas has lost 10 home games.

There's a new athletic director and new head football coach at Texas. The players also want a new home atmosphere from the fans.
