COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- Texas A&M signed touted quarterback Kyler Murray of Allen High and defensive lineman Daylon Mack of Gladewater on Wednesday.

Murray led Allen to three consecutive state titles in the largest division, compiling a 43-0 record as a starter. He's expected to immediately contend with sophomore Kyle Allen for the starting job.

"We've only got two quarterbacks, so he's going to play," coach Kevin Sumlin said. "We're not going to play one guy the entire time, that I could promise him."

Last year's starter for much of the season, Kenny Hill, has left the program after losing the starting job to Allen late in the season. Mack should provide immediate help on the interior of a thin defensive line. Sumlin mentioned the addition of new defensive coordinator John Chavis from LSU as helping draw Mack into the program.
