Texans' star Cushing bashes NFL fines

This week has been a very expensive one for NFL defenders.

Tennessee Titans safety Bernard Pollard...fined $42,000 for a hit on Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson.

Texans cornerback Kareem Jackson...fined $42,000 for a hit on Titans wide receiver Kendall Wright.

And Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Dashon Goldson...fined $100,000 for multiple rules violations.

The fines are coming fast and furious, and that doesn't sit well with one of the leagues best linebackers.

"I don't know, I think it's getting a little ridiculous," Texans linebacker Brian Cushing said, according to the Houston Chronicle. "But at the same time, they're obviously stressing the safety of hits and everything.

"But I don't know. Some (fines) are very questionable and it's a lot of money, a lot of money. I don't know what to say about that. It's difficult. Really difficult."

With the new rules to help protect the safety of the players, it is getting more difficult to be a defensive player in the NFL.

And very expensive.
