A 16-year-old boy died after sparring at Pullman's Gym in Burbank on Thursday evening.

The cause of death was not immediately known. The unidentified North Hollywood teen was pronounced dead at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center.

Pullman's Gym, in the 4300 block of West Magnolia Boulevard, offers a range of teen and adult boxing classes on its website and touts itself as being equipped with "the best gear."

Burbank police told KTLA News the teen was doing some sparring in the boxing ring when he took a blow to the face.

Calls to the gym Friday morning went unanswered.
