Canterbury will play Wellington and New South Wales host South Africa's Sharks in the Super 14 rugby semifinals after a last-round lottery in which almost everything was up for grabs.
The Waratahs and Sharks claimed their second semifinals berths in successive seasons with critical final-round wins, while Canterbury and Wellington were steered into a playoff confrontation by last-round losses.
