U.S. Figure Skating has chosen St. Paul to host the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in 2016. The eight-day event will run from Jan. 16-24 and will be held at the Xcel Energy Center.
The U.S. Championships have been held annually since 1914 and are the top domestic figure skating events. St. Paul last hosted in 2008, featuring eventual Olympians Evan Lysacek, Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto.
"We look forward to returning to Saint Paul for the U.S. Figure Skating Championships," said U.S. Figure Skating Executive Director David Raith. "The city did a great job of hosting our event in 2008, and our athletes, coaches and officials will be excited to compete once again at Xcel Energy Center.”
