BIRMINGHAM, England (AP) Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews won the toss and opted to bat first against England in the second one-day international on Friday.

Mathews plays after picking up a hamstring strain in the first ODI, which ended in a tie. Sri Lanka made one change to its lineup from that game, with Suraj Randiv coming in to give Sri Lanka two specialist spinners at Edgbaston.

England selected an unchanged team after a late fightback in the series opener culminated in tailender Liam Plunkett hitting a six off the last ball to snatch a tie.

That means the five-game series is still level at 0-0.
