HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) Dhananjaya de Silva's unbeaten century took Sri Lanka out of trouble and to 290-5 on the first day of the second test against Zimbabwe.
De Silva was 100 not out at stumps and had put Sri Lanka into a position of strength after the tourists faltered at 112-4.
De Silva was backed up by Upul Tharanga, who continued his form from Sri Lanka's victory in the first test. Tharanga made 79 and he and De Silva put on a partnership of 143 for the fifth wicket to turn the Sri Lankan innings around after they were put in to bat.
Sri Lanka's start was solid and it had reached 62-0 before part-time seamer Hamilton Masakadza's two quick wickets sparked a run where Zimbabwe took 4-40 to have the Sri Lankans struggling.
