AKRON, Ohio - The much-anticipated LeBron James homecoming is actually hitting home.

James is due back in Akron and will be shooting a commercial for Beats headphones at his high school alma mater, St. Vincent-St. Mary, this week. Staffers started setting up for the shoot on Tuesday.

The rest of the details remain under wraps.

James has been in Brazil since last Friday, the day he announced he plans to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers next season. The team officially announced the signing of James on Saturday.

James was in Brazil for Sunday's World Cup Final as a guest of FIFA, and he's been posting photos on his Instagram account.

James spent last week in Las Vegas for the annual Nike LeBron James Skills Academy. He left Las Vegas Thursday afternoon and flew back to Miami. The news was released via Sports Illustrated early Friday afternoon.

In his SI essay, James wrote that he wasn't planning a party or a press conference, and most of the Cavaliers organization remains in Las Vegas through this weekend for the Las Vegas Summer League. A City of Akron spokeswoman told the Associated Press that the city is working with the LeBron James Family Foundation to plan "a city-wide community event where everyone can welcome him home," but the details are still being worked out.

Akron City Council President Garry Moneypenny announced the event during Monday's council meeting, just before members passed a resolution thanking James for deciding to come home.

Also on James' summer itinerary is a Nike-sponsored trip to China.
