12 p.m. ET -- It's a beautiful day in the wine country that surrounds Sonoma Raceway, and teams and drivers are preparing for the first road course race of the season.

Cars are rolling through NASCAR technical inspection, while crews are busy setting up pit stalls and getting their cars ready to turn left and right throughout the day.

Some may question whether drivers are athletes, but for Dale Earnhardt Jr., there's no question Sunday's race will be a true test of athleticism.

12:45 p.m. ET -- Drivers are headed to the driver/crew chief meeting, signing autographs and talking with Miss Sprint Cup along the way.
