When Derek Coleman was sidelined with a broken foot that he suffered in pregame drills before last week's game in St. Louis, the Seattle Seahawks found themselves in a tough predicament.
With their starting fullback out of action for an unknown period of time, the Seahawks have a decision to make in determining who will replace him for the time being.
Enter L.J. Fort.
On Oct. 20, Seattle signed Fort to its practice squad. According to multiple sources, head coach Pete Carroll came up with the idea of switching Fort's role from defense to offense, specifically the fullback position.
Fort, a 6-0, 230 pound linebacker out of Northern Iowa, was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Browns in 2012. He played in 16 games for Cleveland that year, recording 20 tackles, an interception and a sack.
Fort most recently spent time on the Denver Broncos before being cut in late August.
