CLEVELAND -- Carlos Santana said that he is feeling better but still isn't quite 100 percent after suffering a concussion last Sunday at Baltimore.

Santana, who is on the seven-day concussion disabled list, hasn't started hitting or running yet. He will sit in the dugout for three innings during Friday's game against Colorado with the time extended throughout the weekend.

"I feel better compared to two or three days ago. I'll start doing stuff when I feel 100 percent but I don't know yet when that will be," Santana said. "Day to day it depends on how I'm feeling."

Terry Francona didn't know if Santana has taken the concussion test again.

First baseman Nick Swisher (hyperextended left knee) is doing work in the pool and will start "land-based" work on Monday. Francona said they are closer to getting Swisher symptom free.

Zach McAllister (lower back strain) threw a simulated game to a couple Lake County hitters. The right-hander had two 30-pitch innings as Francona said McAllister threw the ball well. McAllister will throw a bullpen session on Monday and could have a rehab start the middle of the week. The only Indians' minor-league affiliate that is home next week is Lake County.

Swisher was placed on the 15-day DL on Tuesday and McAllister has been on since May 22.

INTERLEAGUE MATTERS: The Indians are 2-4 in Interleague play this season going into a three-game series against Colorado. The Rockies are 5-4 and lead the Majors with a .325 batting average in Interleague play.

"One nice thing is we see them in Spring Training even if it is only a couple games. The staff takes a little more time though with scouting reports to feel like we are prepared," Francona said.
