Amid fresh rumors that the Texas Rangers are looking to trade infielder Michael Young, Rangers president Nolan Ryan said the team will not be trading its longtime leader.
As first reported by The Dallas Morning News, Ryan confirmed at a luncheon for the Round Rock Express on Thursday that Young will be penciled in as the Rangers' designated hitter on Opening Day. Young also will be deployed across the infield to give the Rangers a versatile weapon to use against other teams.
