KANSAS CITY, MO � The Kansas City Royals have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Luke Hochevar on a one-year contract for 2011, avoiding arbitration. Consistent with club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The 27-year-old Hochevar was 6-6 with a 4.81 ERA in 18 games, including 17 starts, for the Royals in 2010. He missed two and a half months with a right elbow strain before returning to the big league club in September. The Royals� first-overall selection in the 2006 June Free Agent Draft is 19-32 with a 5.60 ERA in 69 career Major League appearances, including 65 starts.
