Published Mar. 30, 2016 9:31 p.m. ET

The Kansas City Royals released Travis Snider on Wednesday, ending the outfielder's attempt to make Kansas City's big-league roster.

Snider, 28, originally signed with the club as a minor league free agent on January 30.

Following the move, the Royals have 33 players in major league camp, in addition to left-handed pitchers Jason Vargas and Mike Minor, who are both on the 60-day DL. Of the 33 remaining players, five are non-roster invitees.
