
Roman Collins blasts grand slam, lifts Florida Atlantic past South Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Roman Collins hit a grand slam in the sixth inning to lift Florida Atlantic over South Florida 8-4 on Sunday in the Gainesville Regional.
FAU (42-18) advanced to face fourth-seeded Florida on Sunday. The loss eliminated the Bulls (34-26-1) from the tournament.
Brendon Sanger finished with two RBIs for the Owls, including a home run in the first inning. Left-hander Brandon Rhodes (5-1) gave up four runs and eight hits in four innings.
South Florida's Casey Mulholland (5-9) allowed six runs and five hits in six innings. Right-fielder Luke Maglich led the Bulls with three hits and designated hitter Luke Borders had a team-high two RBIs. Levi Borders and Austin Lueck each added two hits.
