FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) -- Damon Heuir scored a season-high 30 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Southern Utah past Northern Arizona 89-77 on Saturday.

Heuir, a senior, was 6 of 11 from the field and 14 of 16 from the free-throw line. He fell just short of his career high of 33 points, set in a win over Bryant in November 2011.

Jackson Stevenett added 14 points and Julian Scott had 13 for the Thunderbirds (5-7, 3-0 Big Sky), who recorded just their third win in 13 meetings with Northern Arizona.

Gabe Rogers had 23 points for the Lumberjacks (5-9, 2-2), who failed to record their first back-to-back victories of the season after beating Sacramento State 57-50 on Thursday.

Southern Utah led 42-30 at halftime. NAU pulled within 51-46 on Rogers' two free throws with 12:33 to play, but the Lumberjacks got no closer the rest of the way.
