The Milwaukee Bucks and free-agent guard Gary Neal have agreed to a two-year, $6.5 million contract, according to multiple reports.
Neal, 28, comes to Milwaukee after spending the first three years of his career with the San Antonio Spurs. Last season, Neal averaged 9.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
A 6-foot-4, 210-pound combo guard, Neal is known for his shooting ability. He made 41.9 percent of his 3-pointers in each of his first two seasons with the Spurs, but his accuracy fell to 35.5 percent last season.
Neal, 28, found his stroke in the NBA Finals, shooting 46.7 percent from beyond the arc in the seven-game series.
After starting his college career at La Salle, Neal played his final two seasons at Towson. He went undrafted after his senior year and signed a contract to play professionally in Turkey for Pinar Karsiyaka.
FC Barcelona bought Neal's contract, and he signed with the Spanish club in 2008. Neal then moved on to Pallacanestro Treviso in Italy and to Unicaja Malaga in Spain. San Antonio signed Neal to a three-year contract in the summer of 2010.
Neal will likely become Milwaukee's primary backup shooting guard behind O.J. Mayo, but he also can play point guard if needed.
