Report: Justin Bieber was in talks to wrestle at WWE SummerSlam last year
Imagine little punk Justin Bieber hoisted up on John Cena's shoulders and then being flipped over and thrown on his back.
It's a wonderful visual, right? It was also an idea the WWE had in place last year.
Former WWE writer Kevin Eck says that Bieber wanted to get in the ring and wrestle at last year's SummerSlam pay-per-view event.
The plan was for Bieber to team up with John Cena and Big Show against the Wyatt Family in a six-man tag team match.
A deal between the singer and the WWE was never finalized, but here's how the storyline would've played out, according to Eck's new blog post:
Amazingly, Eck also reveals that when some in the WWE had reservations about getting into the ring with the much-maligned Bieber, it was Belieber Floyd Mayweather, of all people, who eased the company's concerns.
"Another point that was raised when discussing the potential match was whether it would have been a bad PR move for WWE to do business with Bieber," Eck reported. "The feeling from the powers that be was that if Mayweather liked him, then Bieber must be OK."
Yes, you read that right. Floyd Mayweather served as a character witness for Justin Bieber.
