Ready to go? Bengals' Green practices, likely to play
Hey, it's our final fantasy football blog entry for the 2014 regular season! Who's getting ready to celebrate a fantasy championship?
A.J. Green missed some of Sunday night's game due to an upper arm injury but returned to practice on Thursday and has a "good chance" to play Sunday night at Pittsburgh, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Green was limited in the practice after being unable to go on Wednesday.
The Cowboys will probably be the NFC's No. 3 seed, but since there's a slim chance their standing could improve (if the Rams win at Seattle, or the Lions and Packers tie), it sounds like they'll play their starters. It's possible that Jason Garrett isn't being entirely honest with us, though.
Reminder: The Patriots (AFC1) and Colts (AFC4) are locked into their respective playoff seedings, so we have no idea how much they'll play their starters on Sunday. In 2010, the Pats played Tom Brady a little more than a half in a similar situation. Also, word out of Foxborough is that TE Rob Gronkowski has already been encased in bubble wrap.
Colts TE Dwayne Allen (knee) isn't likely to play Sunday, but WR T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) returned to practice on Wednesday. It's hard to count on Hilton due to the Colts' situation, though.
Julio Jones (hip) and Steven Jackson (quad) missed practice for the Falcons on Thursday, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Jones will probably play Sunday, but Jackson's status is still TBD. Grab Devonta Freeman if you're looking for a running back.
Lions RB Joique Bell practiced Thursday after missing Wednesday's session due to an Achilles injury. Head coach Jim Caldwell said "we'll see" when asked about Bell's status.
If you've been waiting on Chargers RB Ryan Mathews (ankle), he missed practice again on Wednesday, and appears unlikely to play in Kansas City.
Jets WR Percy Harvin (ribs) probably won't play in Miami on Sunday.
Saints RB Pierre Thomas (ribs) didn't practice on Thursday. Who wants to start Travaris Cadet in their DraftKings lineup?
Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph hasn't practiced this week due to an ankle injury.
After announcing QB Logan Thomas as their Week 17 starter, the Cardinals will apparently switch back to Ryan Lindley. Keep in mind that a sub-.500 NFC South winner will get to host one of these guys in a playoff game next week if Drew Stanton doesn't get healthy.
Make sure to check out our final Sunday morning chat, which will run from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. ET and be hosted by yours truly, as well as our Week 17 rankings, which will be updated Friday night. Good luck this week, and thanks for checking in on this blog all season long!
