Rangers' Holland rehab stint could be coming soon
ARLINGTON, Texas -- The long road back to the Texas Rangers rotation is looking like it will come to an end in late August or when the roster expands on Sept. 1.
Holland, who threw around 50 pitches in a bullpen session Monday, will have a fielding session on the home stand and will likely start a rehab assignment later this month. The club had been targeting a July 23 rehab start for Holland is probably going to push that back some.
Holland has missed the entire season while recovering from microfracture surgery on his left knee. He pitched in a simulated game during the last Texas homestand with an emphasis on his ability to field bunts. Holland had made improvement but the club still wanted him to strengthen the knee some more and he remained in Texas during the team's last road trip.
