Rangers closing in on roster

The Rangers have made some roster decisions, with Alberto Gonzalez winning the utility infield spot over Luis Hernandez. Hernandez will be sent to Round Rock.

Brandon Snyder and Craig Gentry are also on the Opening Day roster, barring any changes. The Rangers are sending centerfielder Julio Borbon to Round Rock.

The club still hasn't decided what to do with right-hander Yoshinori Tateyama, who has been slowed by a lower back injury. Tateyama could start the season on the disabled list, which would likely secure roster spots for both Koji Uehara and Mark Lowe.
