DETROIT -- The Red Wings are about to get one player back, but another remains on the shelf.

Defenseman Kyle Quincey, who has missed the last four games with an ankle injury, practiced with the Wings at Grosse Pointe's University Liggett Saturday and pronounced himself good to go.

"It responded every day, got better and better so glad to be back sooner than later," Quincey said.

Wings coach Mike Babcock said he hadn't decided if Brian Lashoff would be the odd defenseman out for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning or if there would be any other lineup changes.

"I'll watch Tampa tonight and then then I'll decide," Babcock said.

Babcock said Pavel Datsyuk, who was a late scratch for Friday's game with a groin injury, would definitely not play Sunday.

"I don't know when Pav is coming back, if he's coming back, I don't know what's going on there," Babcock said.

Quincey and Drew Miller were the only Wings to play every game last season, so it was odd for him to have to watch the last several games.

"It was definitely different going back almost 100 games, it was definitely really weird the first game watching the guys and not being out there and helping," Quincey said. "So it's definitely good to get back."

Quincey has noticed the way his fellow blue liners have scored the last couple of games.

"They're putting the pressure on so I might have to," Quincey said. "The guys are playing well and we're just gonna keep going. We want our mentality to try to win 2-1 every game. We don't want to be giving up too many goals. That's what we've had from day one so keep going."
