Pujols listed day-to-day with calf injury

Los Angeles Angels first baseman
Albert Pujols is listed as day to day after leaving Wednesday night’s 7-3 victory at Boston due to tightness in his right calf.

Pujols underwent an MRI Thursday which revealed a right calf inflammation.

Pujols appeared to pull
up as he was running to third base on a fourth-inning groundout by Kendrys
Morales. He waved off team trainers and eventually scored on a single by Mark
Trumbo.

But Pujols was checked by
trainers when he returned to the dugout and was replaced before the bottom of
the fourth started.

He had a single and a double in his first two at-bats
and left the game with his average at .283.

He was replaced at first base by Trumbo on Wednesday, with Vernon Wells entering the game in
left field.

Trumbo will fill in at first again Thursday.
