PHOTO: Redskins' Thanksgiving tweet just made things awkward
So, you know that whole Redskins name controversy thing? Well, the team has decided it isn't going to change the name. Owner Dan Snyder is adamant about it.
We'll put that aside for one second and, considering the history of pilgrims and Native Americans, take a look at this tweet the Redskins sent out yesterday:
From our family to yours, have a very safe and Happy #Thanksgiving. #HappyThanksgiving #HTTR pic.twitter.com/TZ0fBzbEm2
— Washington Redskins (@Redskins) November 27, 2014
Back to the whole name thing, which some people are pretty upset about. Those same people, or many of them at least, wondered what exactly the Redskins were thinking on Thursday. They found some irony in the tweet.
Here is a smattering of their opinions. We will let them speak for themselves and reserve judgment:
@deathbysexy @Redskins appropriate for 1621
