Peyton Manning Is The Holiday Voice On DIA Trains
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning took a break from calling out audibles recently to record a greeting to passengers arriving at Denver International Airport. Last Friday, Denver International Airport announced that the future Hall Of Fame quarterback would be the voice greeting passengers in all terminals through January 2. "Welcome to the Mile High City," he says. "This is quarterback Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos, wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season." It is usually the voice of the mayor, Michael Hancock (who actually served as the Broncos' mascot Huddles many years ago) but he decided Peyton's southern drawl would be a welcome fit in the Mile High city, especially considering the tear the Broncos are on as of late, having won nine straight games and currently the #2 seed in the AFC playoff standings. The recordings are an audio art installation called "Train Call," created by Denver artist Jim Green. For the record, Manning is the second Broncos player to have his voice playing in DIA. The first? You guessed it. The immortal John Elway who said, simply, "Go Broncos!" [Denver Post]
