Mayor Buddy Dyer has led Orlando's astonishing surge of stadium and arena construction.

The $210 million redevelopment of the city's Citrus Bowl Stadium is nearing completion, set to host the Florida Classic between Florida A&M and Bethune Cookman on Nov. 22, followed by the Russell Athletic Bowl in December and the Citrus Bowl on New Year's Day -- in addition to the multi-million dollar creation of 2015 Cure Bowl he took time to announce on Thursday.

All the while, a new state-of-the-art soccer specific stadium has broken ground downtown, the future home of the expansion MLS Orlando City franchise in 2016. And that facility will stand mere blocks away from both the $450 Million Amway Arena and a gleaming new $400 Million Performing Arts Center -- all constructed during the "dapper in pink" mayor's administration.
