Ohio State will honor its four most recent All-Americans before Saturday's spring football game.
Linebacker Ryan Shazier and offensive lineman Jack Mewhort were All-Americans in 2013, while defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins and cornerback Bradley Roby were All-Americans in 2012.
Mewhort was a senior captain on last year's team. Roby and Shazier gave up their final year of eligibility to enter this year's NFL Draft, while Hankins was an NFL early entry last year who was drafted by the New York Giants.
Mewhort was a three-year starter and one of four seniors on last year's line, which is regarded as one of the best in school history. The development of the new line has been one of the stories to watch throughout spring practice, which concludes with Saturday's spring game inside Ohio Stadium.
An Ohio State lacrosse game precedes the football game -- or something resembling a football game -- which is set for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff. Quarterback Braxton Miller, recovering from shoulder surgery, is among the Buckeyes who won't play in the game.
The losing team in the spring game -- including players, coaches, trainers, administrative staff, etc. -- will, for the third consecutive year, clean up, weed, mulch and improve the landscape of Buckeye Grove as a community service project next week. Once that's completed, those four All-Americans will have a tree planted in Buckeye Grove in their honor among those planted in honor of 186 All-Americans in Ohio State's history.
