Magnus Moan of Norway won a Nordic combined World Cup event on Sunday ahead of countryman Magnus Krog.
Moan finished 8.4 seconds ahead of Krog, with Austria's Bernhard Gruber 9.4 seconds behind in third place.
Moan and Krog were outside the top 20 after the ski jump event, but tore through the field in the cross-country race as the skiers did seven laps of the 1.5-kilometer sprint track due to heavy morning snowfall.
After Austrian Mario Seidl lost his ski, Gruber led from the front with Moan and Krog catching up after overtaking a middle group featuring 2010 Olympic champion Jason Lamy Chappuis of France, who finished fourth.
Krog then overtook Gruber on the last lap.
Overall World Cup leader Fabian Riessle of Germany finished seventh.
