No. 1 pick Anthony Davis sprains ankle
New Orleans Hornets forward Anthony Davis sprained an ankle in his first workout with his new team and is now questionable for a roster spot on the Olympic Team.
Jerry Colangelo, the chairman of USA Basketball's board of directors, revealed the news on Washington, D.C. radio station 106.7 FM on Monday morning.
“Anthony Davis was scheduled to be in until we find out that he sprained
his ankle two days ago in his first workout with his new team, and he’s
suspect now," Colangelo said.
Colangelo was on the radio station discussing the makeup of the roster for the men's national team in London.
Davis was scheduled to be brought in to workout for the team, but the injury could keep him from doing so.
Davis was selected as the No. 1 overall NBA draft pick by New Orleans after leading the Kentucky Wildcats to an NCAA championship last season.
