NHL opening night sets records on FOX Sports Florida, Sun Sports

On Saturday, January 19, hockey fans in Florida officially welcomed back their respective franchises by watching in record numbers. FOX Sports Florida and Sun Sports proudly announced the marks reached by the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers viewing audiences throughout the state.
On Sun Sports, the Lightning’s season opener vs. the Washington Capitals drew the highest opening night rating in Bolts history. The Lightning’s 6-3 victory generated a 2.8 household rating in the Tampa DMA, according to Nielsen Media Research. Saturday’s broadcast peaked at 3.4 HH rating during game. 
On FOX Sports Florida, the Panthers’ home season opener vs. the Carolina Hurricanes proved the reigning Southeast Division Champions continue building upon last year’s momentum. The Panthers were up more than 300-percent over last season’s home opener.
