New Zealand wins toss, bowls in 2nd test vs. Sri Lanka

HAMILTON, New Zealand (AP) New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl Friday in the second cricket test against Sri Lanka.

Captains Brendon McCullum for New Zealand and Angelo Mathews for Sri Lanka had indicated intentions to bowl on winning the toss, on a very green pitch at Seddon Park.

Both teams named unchanged lineups, retaining four-pronged pace attacks. New Zealand named seamers Tim Southee, Trent Boult, Doug Bracewell and Neil Wagner with left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner playing as the allrounder.

Sri Lanka named seamers Suranga Lakmal, Nuwan Pradeep, Dushmantha Chameera and Mathews, with off-spinner Rangana Herath.

New Zealand leads the two-match series 1-0 after winning the first test at Dunedin by 122 runs and is unbeaten in tests at home since March, 2012.
