New UM AD Teague honored by NACDA
New University of Minnesota director of athletics Norwood Teague has picked up an honor from his last job.
Teague was honored by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics as one of the association's winners of the Under Armour AD of the Year during its national convention Monday.
The NACDA honors directors of athletics from different regions of the country at every level of intercollegiate athletics.
Teague was honored for his work as director of athletics at Virginia Commonwealth University and was selected as the Division I Southeast region winner.
According to NACDA, the AD of the Year Award highlights the efforts of athletics directors at all levels for their commitment and positive contributions to campuses and their surrounding communities. Other criteria for consideration include service as an AD for a minimum of five academic years; demonstration of commitment to higher education and student-athletes; continuous teamwork, loyalty and excellence; and the ability to inspire individuals or groups to high levels of accomplishments.
Teague was named director of athletics at Minnesota in April.
