Nate Diaz recalls the time he tried to buy a Cadillac and a house for $16,000

In 2007, Nate Diaz submitted Gray Maynard to win The Ultimate Fighter 5 and exclaimed "I'm rich" at the end.

The victory netted him roughly $16,000 and as Diaz explains to Andy Nesbitt in a Facebook Live interview, he wanted to use the proceeds to purchase a Cadillac for himself and a house for his mother.  

"I was young and didn't really have any concept of anything" says the 31-year-old.

Diaz certainly did not. He ended up with a souped-up Honda Civic and little money left over. The story about the vehicle begins about 10:30 minutes in (warning: Video contains expletives):
