MSU reinstates Rucker after his release from jail

Michigan State's Chris L. Rucker, a starting cornerback, has been reinstated after serving a suspension that included missing two games.

Rucker served eight days in Ingham County Jail for violating his probation when he was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The charge was later reduced to misdemeanor reckless driving.

Rucker, a senior who is from Warren, Ohio, was on probation for a misdemeanor assault conviction for his role in a dormitory fight involving multiple MSU football players last November.

Coach Mark Dantonio announced after that highly-publicized incident that he had a "zero-tolerance" policy, which has led some to question how he could reinstate Rucker the same day the player was released from jail.

Michigan State plays Saturday at Iowa. Dantonio said it will be Rucker's decision on whether he travels with the team.
