MSU joins Duke, Kansas and Kentucky in Champions Classic

Michigan State will be part of an elite group of college basketball teams in early season doubleheaders over the next three years.
ESPN announced Wednesday the Spartans will be joined by Duke, Kansas and Kentucky to form a prestigious foursome for the Champions Classic. The Spartans will play each of the other three schools in the event once over the course of three years at three different neutral sites.
The teams have combined for a total of 22 NCAA Final Four appearances in the last 20 years: Duke (7), Michigan State (6), Kansas (5) and Kentucky (4); and have captured a combined 16 NCAA Division I Championships all-time: Kentucky (7), Duke (4), Kansas (3) and Michigan State (2).
