Mr. Z listed as 5-2 favorite for Delta Downs Jackpot
Mr. Z is the 5-2 morning-line favorite for the $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot for 2-year-olds Saturday.
A field of 12, including two also eligible horses, was entered Tuesday for the 1-1/16-mile race.
Mr. Z is trained by Hall of Famer D. Wayne Lukas and will be ridden by Paco Lopez. Mr. Z drew the No. 3 post.
Golden Actor, trained by Ignacio Roncancio, is the 7-2 second choice. Conquest Tsunami, trained by Mark Casse, is the 4-1 third choice.
Ocho Ocho Ocho, ridden by Hall of Famer Mike Smith, is the 6-1 fourth choice.
A pair of Hall of Famers, jockey Russell Baze and trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, team up with Prime Engine, the 8-1 fifth choice.
The winner will earn $600,000 and 10 points toward a possible starting position in next year's Kentucky Derby.
Five other horses are at double-digit odds: Wake Up Nick and Far Right, both 10-1; Red Button at 12-1; Saratoga Heater at 15-1 and trained by Lisa Lewis; and Dekabrist at 30-1.
The also eligible horses are Unblunted at 15-1 and Two Six Wins at 20-1.
Lukas entered Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Take Charge Brandi in the $400,000 Delta Downs Princess, a one-mile race for 2-year-old fillies.
