Toronto FC 4 -- Orlando City 1

Sebastian Giovinco produced another irrepressible performance to give TFC all three points at BMO Field. The Italian international tempted Aurelien Collin into conceding a spot kick with a determined run inside the opening quarter of an hour and then thumped it home to provide TFC with a foothold. Luke Boden issued the Orlando City response when he looped over Joe Bendik from the edge of the penalty area. The stalemate held until early in the second half when Giovinco struck another sublime free kick to restore the Reds’ advantage. Collen Warner nodded home Jonathan Osorio’s cross nine minutes from time to extend the Reds' lead. Giovinco completed a fine night for the home side when he latched onto Benoit Cheyrou’s diagonal and slotted past Tally Hall in the late stages.

Montréal Impact 1 -- New York Red Bulls 1

Lloyd Sam equalized early in the second half to secure a point for the Red Bulls at Stade Saputo. Montréal opened the scoring after Dominic Oduro stormed through the penalty area and thumped home three minutes before halftime. Sam pegged the Impact back seven minutes into the second half when he bundled home Mike Grella’s cross the the left. Impact coach Frank Klopas handed Costa Rica winger Johan Venegas his debut on the hour in a bid to push the game in the home side’s favor, but he watched in horror as influential defender Laurent Ciman picked up a second yellow card after a lunge at midfield. Felipe hit the post in the dying embers of the game to allow the 10-man Impact to escape with a point for their troubles.
