The NFL Most Valuable Player Award is normally reserved for quarterbacks, as signal callers have taken home the hardware seven out of the last nine seasons. As great as quarterbacks such as Tom Brady and Phillip Rivers have been leading their teams this year, it may finally be time for a Jaguars player to get legitimate MVP consideration.

Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew may not be having a record-setting year in terms of yardage and touchdowns, but it's difficult to find any player who means more to their team. The Jacksonville offense completely revolves around their diminutive superstar as he takes the ball tirelessly and sets a tone for the team's offense.

In Sunday's 17-6 victory over Tennessee, Jones-Drew had a career-high 186 yards rushing and eclipsed the century mark for the fifth consecutive game.
